Chuck Baker's sound dissolves the traditional boundaries between blues, rock, jazz and even funk. He fractures the iconic mold of folk, delivering a complex blend of keen riffs, exciting composition, erudite songwriting and an arrestingly percussive style of guitar that punctuates brilliantly. To really appreciate Chuck Baker is to see him play live. His performances are engaging and infectious. Check him out at a folk festival, patio, boat, bar, or living room show near you or with these rockin' combos:

Lucy Jinx (Chuck Baker, Tony Burgess, Keith Elliott, Mike Young, John Hall)

The Sherri Jackson Band    (Sherri Jackson, Chuck Baker, RonPretli, John Hall, Skip Wamsteeker and Rick Garner)

The Chuck Baker Band (Chuck Baker, Sherri Jackson, RonPretli, John Hall, Skip Wamsteeker and Rick Garner)

The Diefenbakers (with Dan O'Halloran, Jared Singleton and Adam Webster)

Baker and long time collaborator Tony Burgess were nominated for a Canadian Screen Award in 2023 for best original song for the film Cult Hero. Baker has shared the stage with and opened for a long list of Canadian treasures including Danny Michel, Hawksley Workman, Serena Ryder, Rose Cousins, David Francey, Fred Eaglesmith, The Rheostatics, Catherine Wheatley, Wendell Ferguson, Craig Cardiff, Steve Strongman and Carlos del Junco.

Baker holds an MFA from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelors of Education from the University of Western Ontario. He is currently head of the Arts at Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School in Angus, Ontario.
